When we were fourteen, our friend Angela died. She was buried beneath a live oak tree, and every time we visited we brought wind chimes. Over time there were twenty of them hanging in those branches — each one chosen by somebody who missed her. When the wind blew, they all sang at once. It didn't feel like noise. It felt like a hug. That sound became Love Chimes.
